Human Rights in Afghanistan

War and destruction have damaged tremendously the fabric of the society so much so that it is difficult for the common man to define his rights as a citizen. War and tyranny have trampled upon all aspects of human rights in the country. There have been probably more hue and cry over violation of women's rights in Afghanistan. But human rights of all sectors of the population have been trampled upon. Talk to us about what you think happened, why it happened and how to prevent it from happening in the future.

What are these rights?

Can anybody tell me about the human rights situation under Rabbani, between 1992 and 1996? I want to know about the way in which the Rabbani reforms and propagande resulted in human rights abuses, expecially of women and girls (rather than the obvious killings and casualties as a result of the heavy shelling of Kabul by the Rabbani and opposing forces).
