Of the four major post Loya Jirga items, one of the most important one is drafting of the new Constitution for Afghanistan. This new mother of laws for the country will lay the foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and contented society in the country run by laws and not by guns. It is therefore important that the constitution will, in addition to providing the foundation of a new civil society for the 21st century, would also serve as a tool for education, conflict removal and propagator of human rights in a society that should uphold human dignity and breed confidence. By sharing your ideas, you would help us understand more and appreciate further points of view. Everybody's constructive input will enrich the institution of the constitution. |

Posted At 12:12:34 01/17/2003 The new constitution should provide for equality among men and women, including the right to education, the right to work, own property, and vote. Rights given to men, should also be given to women. Rights given should be inclusive of all ethnicities and tribes who's individuals are citizens of Afghanistan. Without this kind of equality, Afghanistan will not be able to move forward in to the 22nd century. |

Posted At 17:55:19 07/25/2003 We are afghans and Afghanistn has a history. We must be carefull to dicide how to make a constitution for Afghanistan and we must not be undermined by some warloards, which are powered by some naboring countries to make Afghanistan a federal republic. I think the federal republic could be a temporarry solution to the problems of Afghan ethnic conflicts, but if we think about a totally free Afghanistan it will give us unimaginable problems,caz there is no statistic how many people live in a province or state depending of their nationality. You are responsible for this constitution and the history will never forget your dissetion, so think once again before you make a final dissetion and don't forget that some peoples from some nationalities have more abality to send you letters and e-mails, but other don't. |
