A Focus Project by the
Institute for Afghan Studies
We are embarking on a careful study of Afghan-U.S.
relationship starting with the first official contacts in the 1920's
through the late 1970's and the subsequent relationship which
developed between the U.S. and the Afghan resistance in the 1980's.
We will conclude this study with the 1990's. We will then attempt to
project as to where this relationship is headed in the early years of
the 21st Century.
This is an extensive study and we very much
